Lubec is a beautiful Downeast Maine coastal town to visit any time of the year but this lobster fishing village really comes to life over the summer, when the town plays host to an international marathon, a summer music series and, of course, a fantastically festive Fourth of July. Below is the schedule of events for Lubec’s 2015 Independence Day celebrations.
The Lubec 4th of July Schedule – 2015
FRIDAY, 3RD OF JULY
9:00 am – Fish Chowder Bazarr at the West Lubec Methodist Church. Library book sale.
5:00 p.m. – Horse shoes at Stockford Park.
9:00 p.m. – Dance at Annabelle’s with live music.
SATURDAY, 4TH OF JULY (INDEPENDENCE DAY)
9:00 am – Doll Carriage parade at the school.
10:00 am – Foot races for all ages followed by frog jumping, watermelon eating and bubble gum blowing contests along with a penny scramble.
11:00 am – BBQ Chicken dinner by the Lions Club.
1:00 p.m. – Grand Parade (line up at the school).
2:00 p.m. – Pet show at the school.
8:00 p.m. – Shirt Tale Parade (line up at the school).
SUNDAY, 5TH OF JULY
Dusk – Fireworks over Lubec harbor.
