The Galley Restaurant Naples, Maine

June 24, 2012 by Christina Lemieux Leave a Comment

The Galley Restaurant in Naples, Maine is by no means a traditional lobster shack.  It’s not on the coast and doesn’t offer ambiance.  But The Galley Restaurant’s lobster roll is so noteworthy I felt compelled to add it to the list.

For many years, non-traditional lobster rolls were hard to find in Maine. Why mess with a good thing? Yet The Galley Restaurant in Naples developed a mix-and-match menu of gussied-up lobster rolls – with different meat combinations and bun styles – so good that captured the attention of Adam Richman, host of the Travel Channel’s new show. The Galley’s Zesty Lemon Lobster Roll was voted by Adam as one of the “Best Sandwiches in America.”

The Galley’s lemon zest lobster roll is made with meat from the whole lobster – knuckle, tail and claw – plus a garnish of lettuce and a lemon pepper seasoning. In addition to the zest lobster roll, they offer a ceasar lobster roll, dressed in light ceasar dressing, garnished with parmeasan and a “slaw’bster roll with cole slaw.  They also serve more traditional rolls, including lobster rolls dressed in mayo and in butter .  The Galley Restaurant also serve lobster bisque

Again, The Galley Restaurant is not a traditional lobster shack but if you’re looking for a lobster roll adventure, this is the place to go.
