Thurstons Lobster Pound in Bernard, Maine is the perfect place to experience seafood ‘in the rough’ if you are in the Acadia region. This lobster shack is perched right on a dock overlooking the water, giving diners fresh, salty breezes and views of the lobster boats that brought in the catch they are about to consume.
A family run business that dates back five generations, Thurstons Lobster Pound serve clams and mussels by the pound, crab cakes and chowders, along with Shore Dinners, baked lobsters, lobster rolls and blueberry pies. Thurstons lobster rolls come lightly dressed in mayo on a toasted split-top bun. Thurstons also serve wine and beer.
