The Lobster Shack at Two Lights

June 24, 2012 by Christina Lemieux Leave a Comment

The Lobster Shack at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth Maine has been a local landmark since the 1920s, offering postcard perfect views and excellent lobster rolls.  This is a classic lobster shack, where you can enjoy your dinner ocean-side, on picnic tables perched just above the crashing surf, or inside their cozy dining room.  Whether alfresco or indoors, you will be able to tuck into your lobster with views of two light houses, including Portland Light, the most photographed lighthouse in the world.

In addition to their famous lobster rolls, The Lobster Shack at Two Lights offer a menu of lobster dinners, lobster stew and other seafood specialities like clam chowder and fried seafood baskets.

As for the The Lobster Shack’s lobster roll, it contains a generous serving of fresh lobster meat – each roll gets one soft shell lobster’s worth of meat – tucked into a buttered and toasted split-top bun on a bed of iceberg lettuce.  It comes with a scoopful of Ken’s Extra Heavy Mayo and a pickle garnish. They also serve their lobster rolls with melted butter on request.

During the busy months of July and August, The Lobster Shack at Two Lights easily hustle out 1,500 rolls a day, so expect long lines.  But with ambiance overload and a top quality lobster roll it’s well worth the wait.
