Bob’s Clam Hut in Kittery, Maine doesn’t offer ocean vistas or rustic ambiance but its delicious seafood fare makes this lobster shack well worth a stop. It has even made Forbes Magazine’s 40 favorite restaurants in the United States, being referred to as a “seaside, roadside Nirvana,”
Bob’s have a heavy focus on fried fare, including a vast array of fried seafood baskets and award-winning fried clams. With regards to lobster, they don’t offer shore dinners but they do offer lobster stew, a lobster basket and lobster rolls. The Bob’s Clam Hut lobster roll comes warm or cold, with ample meat, just the right amount of dressing (butter and mayo are offered) and are served on a toasted split-top bun.
You can either dine from the dashboard of your car, outside a one of the blue-checked picnic tables or indoors at the counter. Finally, Bob’s is BYOB. If you’d like suggestions on what wine to pack for your lobster dinner at Bob’s, click here.
